Moni Blue- Collide
In this mix I wanted to retain the balance and dynamics of the recordings I used an EL9 pre amp to tighten up the snare and used other various outboard gear to add color, depth, and harmonics to the mix while also creating clarity.

DiamonB- Another Life
This project challenged me to create space for the low end and low mid guitars, I used side chain compression to get the kick to punch through the bass and tamed the low end on the guitars to allow the bass guitar to shine through the guitars. When mixing the vocals I used the Maag eq4m to add some shimmer and air to the vocals. Using the rest of my outboard gear I enhanced clarity and added some nice saturation using my better maker limiter.

Spike Mulling- Mikes Sulking
I wanted to create a soft ambience in the mix using reverb I was able to achieve a smooth lush ambience. I used the SSL fusion and the Portico II MBP to add width and depth to the guitars and the whole mix. I used my Focusrite Red 3 compressor to add some punch to the drums. When working on the vocals I used the Maag eq4m to get some air and drive the 2.5khz shelf.

Forkupines- Sleep By The Fire Bloom In The Water
This mix was challenging especially with the low end. There was lots of masking between the vocals, guitars, bass, and drums. I used eq and panning to make some space and furthered that by using side chain to get the kick to cut through the bass. I used the SSL fusion on the drum bus this time to help beef it up with the violet eq. I used my boiler compressor on the bass to get some grit and aggression to come forward. I mixed the rest pretty simply I tried to stray away from doing too much processing because it was already a busy mix I wanted to avoid over compressing. On the master bus I used the better maker compressor to squeeze the mix and get the kick to hit harder.

DGX- Redemptive Pain
This mix was challenging for a couple of reasons. Firstly all the Electric Guitar tracks were only direct input as well as the bass track. Meaning I had to amp all of the tracks in logic and edit the amps to suite the type of song. The next challenge I faced was with the drums. The rapid kick made it a little challenging to get the drums to really punch. I used the EL9 again in this mix to really get the snare to snap.

Death Of A Romantic- The Well
For this project I wanted to focus on using parallel compression more. I setup parallel compression aux tracks in logic for the drums and guitars. I hard panned the guitars to left and right so I created a mono aux track for the parallel compression to fill out the guitars. I focused heavily on bus processing this time and not tweaking individual tracks too much but processing instead processing the buses.
